    2x + 8 = 7

    2x = 7 - 8

    2x = - 1

    x = - 1/2


    4 - 8x = 15

    - 8x = 15 - 4

    - 8x = 11

    x = - 11/8


    5x + 11 = 3x + 5

    5x - 3x = 5 - 11

    2x = - 6

    x = - 6/2

    x = - 3


    4x - 3 = - 2x + 8

    4x + 2x = 8 + 3

    6x = 11

    x = 11/6
